A diverse Upper Midwesternlandlocked state, North Dakota is acclaimed for its wide-ranging flatlands dominated by rolling prairies, badlands, farmlands, grassland plains, and temperate savanna. Boasting a strong heritage shaped by the miscellaneous Native American tribes who inhabited the region for thousands of years and the earnestness of the American pioneers, the Peace Garden State amazingly blends the retro charm with the friendly hospitality of the residents. Notwithstanding the fact that the state capital, Bismarck, and Fargo – the biggest city account for almost one-fifth of North Dakota’s entire populace, the Roughrider State is not frequented much by vacationers compared to its neighboring states. The countless charming small towns sprinkled all over the Flickertail State are waiting to captivate the hearts of holidayers who wish to spend quality time on their next vacation to this ‘Heaven on Earth.’

This seat of southeast-central North Dakota’s Stutsman County is situated at the meeting of Pipestem Creek and James River, nearly midway betwixt Fargo and Bismarck. Baptized by the Northern Pacific Railway’s General Thomas Rosser after Jamestown, Virginia, the town houses the main campus of the University of Jamestown – a private Christian university founded in 1883 and has been co-educational since then. The Frontier Village, located in the town’s southeastern end, features umpteen restored ancient structures, a museum filled with native history exhibits, and an American bison statue – believed to be the ‘World’s Largest Buffalo Monument.’ The Jamestown Reservoir at the town’s northern extremity offers abundant water-based recreation, while other attractions like the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame, Jamestown Arts Center, Jamestown Civic Center, National Buffalo Museum, and two world-class disc golf courses are not to be missed.
Joe Biden Resigned from presidency election to be handed over to his vice
Democratic party rules don’t allow Biden to simply pass his 3,896 delegates to Harris or another candidate.
Harris will now have to convince those nearly 4,000 delegates and 700 superdelegates to support her and name her nominee.
However, delegates are free agents who can choose to support whichever candidate they want – likely without input from voters at this stage since primaries and caucuses were already held.
All eyes are now on the previously planned virtual vote – where the Democratic party could choose a nominee before the DNC begins.
Biden’s endorsement of Harris will likely sway delegates and no one has publicly challenged her as a candidate – but delegates are not required to back her. Even if the virtual vote isn’t held, the party could still choose Harris or another candidate before the convention.
If Democrats don’t name their nominee before the DNC, it’ll be the first open and contested convention since 1968.
Trump’s campaign has also been peddling the idea that Biden should resign immediately from his position as president.
“While we are rightly considering the implications of the Democrats internal chaos, the real story is the implication that someone is too unhealthy to run but not too unhealthy to serve. That’s absurd,” Trump campaign spokesman, Brian Hughes, said in a statement earlier this week.
Donald Trump was declared the official Republican presidential nominee on Thursday.
The decision was announced at the Republican National Convention, where Trump was seen looking emotional after the votes were announced.
The nomination came just days after an assassination attempt on the 45th president at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Joe Biden’s full letter announcing his withdrawal from campaign
On Sunday, July 21, 2024, 46th US president Joe Biden posted a letter X, formerly known as Twitter, announcing he’s stepping down from the 2024 presidential race.
My Fellow Americans,
Over the past three and a half years, we have made great progress as a Nation.
Today, America has the strongest economy in the world. We’ve made historic investments in rebuilding our Nation, in lowering prescription drug costs for seniors, and in expanding affordable health care to a record number of Americans. We’ve provided critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances. Passed the first gun safety law in 30 years. Appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court. And passed the most significant climate legislation in the history of the world. America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today.
I know none of this could have been done without you, the American people. Together, we overcame a once in a century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We’ve protected and preserved our Democracy. And we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world.
It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.
I will speak to the Nation later this week in more detail about my decision.
For now, let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who have worked so hard to see me reelected. I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an extraordinary partner in all this work. And let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.
I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can’t do – when we do it together.
We just have to remember we are the United States of America

Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has suggested he may leave his first child, Aurora Imade Adeleke, in the custody of her mother, Sophia Momodu.
All Dew News reports that this follows Momodu’s recent counter-affidavit, which claims that Davido is unfit to raise their daughter.
In her response, Momodu alleged that Davido’s home environment is unsafe for a young girl, referencing the tragic death of his son, Ifeanyi, in 2022 to support her claim.
The circulating document partly states, “The applicant cannot take proper care of our daughter because he lives a controversial lifestyle (negative media attention) that will expose our daughter to more negative trauma at her tender age.”
The affidavit further contends that Davido’s frequent travels, the presence of unsavory adults in his home, and his estrangement from their daughter make him an unsuitable custodian.
Momodu also questioned the suitability of Imade being raised in a household with Davido’s new wife, citing concerns about proper upbringing.
Momodu’s statement included, “The fact that the applicant lost his son in his house in rather unfortunate and questionable circumstances shows that our daughter cannot be placed in the custody of the applicant.”
In response, Davido expressed his ongoing grief over his son’s death in a post on X.com, criticizing Momodu for repeatedly bringing up the tragedy.
He wrote, “ Your constantly bringing up the death of my child at any point you can to just remind us of this tragedy that haunts us everyday of our lives.”
Davido indicated his readiness to relinquish his pursuit of Imade’s custody, expressing hope that Imade will one day understand his efforts
Imade will grow up to see I fought for her. As for now, you can have her. P.S: she won’t be a child forever… enjoy, Imade Aurora Adeleke! Your father loves you!,” Davido wrote.
He further lamented the backlash he faced, noting, “All I asked for was ‘joint custody’ but cus it’s Davido yall wanna act like yall can’t read! SMH I’m off this … yall be blessed and I pray this never happens to you.” News previously reported that Davido had taken Momodu to court, seeking custody of Imade, and claiming he had been responsible for her education, housing, transportation, living expenses, health care, and periodic travel.
All Dew News previously reported that Davido had taken Momodu to court, seeking custody of Imade, and claiming he had been responsible for her education, housing, transportation, living expenses, health care, and periodic travel.
In response to the lawsuit, Momodu stated that since their relationship ended in July 2022, Davido had neither contacted Imade nor provided emotional and financial support.
She insisted that Davido had chosen not to see Imade and that she had never denied him access to their daughter.

Nigeria minimum University cut off mark was set up by the educational skake holders
According to All Dew post, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), clarified that the score of 140 is not a uniform cut-off mark, but rather the lowest acceptable score for admissions. This means that universities can set their own cut-off marks, as long as they meet the minimum benchmark set by JAMB.
In fact, several universities, including Pan-Atlantic University, Covenant University, Obafemi Awolowo University, and the University of Lagos, have already set their minimum scores at 200 and above. This highlights the flexibility in the admission process, allowing universities to maintain their individual standards while adhering to the national benchmark.
Oloyede emphasized the importance of distinguishing between JAMB’s minimum benchmark and individual university cut-off marks. This distinction ensures that universities can maintain their unique admission requirements while aligning with national standards.
The establishment of a minimum admission benchmark score aims to promote standardization and excellence in Nigeria’s education sector. By setting a common baseline, stakeholders seek to enhance the quality of education and provide a more level playing field for all students.
FG bans admissions for under 18 into tertiary institutions
18th July 2024
Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman
Kindly share this story:
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, on Thursday announced a ban on admissions for candidates under the age of 18 into tertiary institutions in the country.
Mamman announced during the 2024 policy meeting of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
“JAMB is hereby notified that there is now a ban on underaged students, those under the age of 18 into our tertiary institutions from this 2024 admissions,” Mamman said.
Why we’re banning under-18 admissions into tertiary institutions — FG
Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has explained why the federal government is banning under-18 admissions into tertiary institutions.
Speaking at the 2024 Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in Abuja on Thursday,18th July 2024.
Mamman highlighted the need to establish clear guidelines for the 2024 academic session admissions.
The minister directed JAMB to ensure that only candidates who have attained the age of 18 years are admitted into tertiary institutions during the 2024 admission process.
Recent findings indicate that the admission of underage candidates is adversely affecting universities and the education system at large, necessitating the enforcement of existing regulations.
He said, ”Information has revealed that the enrolment of underage candidates is inflicting serious damage on the university and the education system, hence, the need for enforcement of extant rules.

“When I was monitoring the just concluded 2024 UTME, I was alarmed at the participation of a large number of obviously under-age candidates in the examination.
“This necessitated my comment on the need to enforce the extant provisions of the educational policies which made provision for nine years of basic education and three years of Senior Secondary Education before entry into tertiary institution.
“It is clear that a child who, as expected is enrolled in basic school at the age of six and having undergone 12 years of education would be around 18 years old when being enrolled in a tertiary institution,” he said.
Mamman expressed concern over the surge in requests for age modifications in anticipation of the impending age policy enforcement, describing it as endangering the futures of young individuals by those entrusted with their care.
