    Akure, Ondo State — In a profound celebration of hope and new beginnings, Cornerstone New Life Church, led by the esteemed Bishop Olukayode Michael Adesua, held a powerful and spirit-filled Wholehearted Easter Sermon on Sunday, 20th April 2025, at Upper Sijuwade Hospital, Ojulenla Layout, Ijoka, Akure.

    The event, themed around the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, brought together members of the church, to commemorate the most pivotal moment in the Christian faith — the victory of life over death.

    Drawing from Luke 24:1-10 and John 11:25-26, Bishop Adesua preached passionately about the risen Christ and the eternal hope found in His resurrection. “Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. That is the foundation of our faith and the promise that keeps us going, even in the face of pain and uncertainty,” he declared.

    The sermon was marked by uplifting worship, fervent prayers for healing, and heartfelt reflection on the sacrifice and triumph of Jesus. Attendees were visibly moved as the message of resurrection ignited hope and renewed faith, especially for those battling illness and challenges.

    Akure, Ondo State — On Sunday, 13th April 2025, the atmosphere at Upper Sijuwade Hospital, Ojulenla Layout, Ijoka, Akure was filled with joy and heartfelt worship as Cornerstone New Life Church hosted a powerful and spirit-filled event titled Wholehearted Praise.

    The special outreach programme, which began in the early hours of the day, drew members of the church. With vibrant praise, worship songs, and powerful ministration, the event brought hope, healing, and encouragement to all in attendance.


    Led by the church’s pastoral team and dedicated music ministry, the programme featured testimonies, scripture readings, and Praise. The praise session resonated deeply, lifting spirits and reminding attendees of the power of faith and communal love.



    Speaking during the event, Bishop Olukayode Michael Adesua, emphasized the importance of reaching out beyond the four walls of the church to touch lives where it matters most. “This programme is not just about singing; it’s about bringing God’s love and presence to those who need it most — especially the sick and weary,” he said.

    The presence of God was richly felt at Cornerstone New Life Church on Sunday, as worshippers gathered in unity Upper Sijuwade Hospital, Ojulenla Layout, Akure, Ondo State, for a powerful service themed “Holy Communion / Month of Praise.”

    Presiding over the service, Bishop Olukayode Michael Adesua opened with heartfelt congratulations to the congregation, ushering them into the new month with joy and thanksgiving. He thanked God for journey mercies granted to those who traveled and returned safely and led the church in celebrating the birth of a new baby, describing it as a divine testimony of growth and blessing in the house of God.

    In his spirit-filled message, the Bishop emphasized the significance of the Holy Communion as a sacred act of covenant with God. He passionately taught from Matthew 26:26–29, Luke 22:18–20, and John 6:53–58, urging the congregation to understand that partaking in the Communion is more than ritual—it is a spiritual sacrifice that brings forgiveness, healing, and grace.

    “When you partake in the Holy Communion,” Bishop Adesua said, “you are not just observing tradition. You are sealing your covenant with God. And when that covenant is strong, you will not regret. If you believe in God, you will receive perfect healing.”

    He encouraged members to make intentional choices in their relationship with God, stressing, “You must be determined, and all your determination must be on God. You must make a choice.”

    The Bishop also reminded the church of the power of praise, stating that this month is a divine opportunity to lift their voices in worship and gratitude. He announced that next Sunday, April 14, 2025, will be dedicated to praise and testimonies, and urged members to come ready to celebrate God’s goodness.

    As the service came to a close, Bishop Olukayode Michael Adesua lifted a prayer over the entire congregation, asking God to strengthen their faith, renew their spirits, and grant them divine healing and open doors. The atmosphere was charged with positivity as congregants gathered to partake in a message centered on the theme “Fear Not.”

    Bishop Adesua opened the service with a warm welcome, encouraging attendees to embrace the spirit of community and faith. He emphasized the importance of self-reflection, stating, “Knowing your usefulness, make yourself holy,” and questioned, “Are you accepted by God?” Drawing from Romans 12:1-2, he urged the congregation to see themselves as living sacrifices dedicated to fulfilling God’s will.

    “You are a grassroots,” Bishop Adesua continued, urging everyone to stay on the right path. “Use yourself as a living sacrifice, holy to fulfill God’s will in your life.” He highlighted the significance of personal righteousness, reminding the congregation that unanswered prayers could often trace back to one’s own unrighteousness. “Don’t join the counsel of the wicked and the ungodly. Follow the word of God. Convert yourself to a new leaf—redemption. Seek God’s steadfast love and become righteous,” he instructed.

    In a poignant moment, the Bishop elaborated on the concept of the “Cloud of Witness,” understood as the Holy Spirit. This concept represents the examples of faith embodied by figures from the Bible such as Abraham, Enoch, and Noah. Referencing Hebrews 11:4-19, he stated, “You shall have Christ. Put your doing unto God, and it shall be fulfilled. Therefore, be patient in all your doing.” He reminded the congregation, “God is the author and the finisher of our faith,” stressing the power of patience and perseverance.

    Bishop Adesua also addressed the emotional resonance of familial loss, stating, “Christ resurrected, but your earthly father cannot resurrect. You should only remember the good memories of your earthly father.” He encouraged the congregation to look to the Cloud of Witness as models of faith, emphasizing, “Through faith, Enoch’s situation was reversed.”
