The presence of God was richly felt at Cornerstone New Life Church on Sunday, as worshippers gathered in unity Upper Sijuwade Hospital, Ojulenla Layout, Akure, Ondo State, for a powerful service themed “Holy Communion / Month of Praise.”
Presiding over the service, Bishop Olukayode Michael Adesua opened with heartfelt congratulations to the congregation, ushering them into the new month with joy and thanksgiving. He thanked God for journey mercies granted to those who traveled and returned safely and led the church in celebrating the birth of a new baby, describing it as a divine testimony of growth and blessing in the house of God.
In his spirit-filled message, the Bishop emphasized the significance of the Holy Communion as a sacred act of covenant with God. He passionately taught from Matthew 26:26–29, Luke 22:18–20, and John 6:53–58, urging the congregation to understand that partaking in the Communion is more than ritual—it is a spiritual sacrifice that brings forgiveness, healing, and grace.
“When you partake in the Holy Communion,” Bishop Adesua said, “you are not just observing tradition. You are sealing your covenant with God. And when that covenant is strong, you will not regret. If you believe in God, you will receive perfect healing.”
He encouraged members to make intentional choices in their relationship with God, stressing, “You must be determined, and all your determination must be on God. You must make a choice.”
The Bishop also reminded the church of the power of praise, stating that this month is a divine opportunity to lift their voices in worship and gratitude. He announced that next Sunday, April 14, 2025, will be dedicated to praise and testimonies, and urged members to come ready to celebrate God’s goodness.
As the service came to a close, Bishop Olukayode Michael Adesua lifted a prayer over the entire congregation, asking God to strengthen their faith, renew their spirits, and grant them divine healing and open doors. He prayed for peace in their homes, breakthroughs in their careers, and deeper intimacy with God.
The day ended with a reverent Holy Communion session and vibrant songs of praise, as the church stepped boldly into the new month — grounded in covenant, filled with faith, and ready to give all glory to God.
