JUST IN: President Tinubu Arrives at Venue of AU Conference in Accra, Ghana [VIDEO]

President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the venue of the 6th Mid-Year Coordinating Meeting of the African Union (AU), which is underway in Accra, Ghana.

In his capacity as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Tinubu will address the meeting on the status of regional integration across various areas in Africa. He will highlight the achievements and challenges encountered in West Africa since the last meeting in Nairobi, Kenya, in July 2023.

President Tinubu will present the “2024 Report on the State of the Community.” The report will focus on peace, regional security, governance, economic integration, humanitarian and social development, energy, mines, and agriculture.

The meeting will be convened under the AU theme for 2024: “Educate and Skill Africa for the 21st Century.”

The Nigerian President arrived at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana, on Saturday and is expected to return to the country after the summit.

Police Break Silence As Northern Youths Reportedly Vandalize Tinubu’s Billboards

The Yobe State police command has debunked reports that some northern youths on Saturday destroyed a billboard erected by the state government to welcome President Bola Tinubu into the state.

DAILY POST reports that a video clip that captured the alleged incident has been making the rounds on social media since Sunday morning.

According to X microblogging users who posted the video, the incident occurred shortly after the Vice President, Kashim Shettima visited the state on Saturday.

DAILY POST reports that Shettima was in Damaturu, the state capital on Saturday to launch the Yobe State Agricultural Empowerment Programme.

When contacted by DAILY POST over the trending video, the Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim said there was nothing like that in the state.

“I saw that video too but I don’t think it is in Yobe. When Shettima visited, we conducted the program peacefully and nothing happened.

“There was no single challenge. Nothing like that happened”, he noted.
